Society of infrastructure Journalists

Society of infrastructure Journalists- Nepal (SIJ-Nepal) is an umbrella organization for infrastructure journalists. SIJ was founded in 2078 B.S. with the goal of improving the capacity, efficiency, knowledge, and skills of infrastructure journalists. Its main goal is to practice journalism to promote and publicize Nepal’s progress and development in the infrastructure sector, as well as the efforts made by concerned agencies in the field of development, and to create a positive environment and provide dynamism in development.

The society intends to organize training, seminars, interactions, policy debates, and dialogues, as well as studies and research for journalists working in the infrastructure sector. Society will carry out various activities in coordination, cooperation, and assistance with various governmental, non-governmental, academic sectors, studies, research institutions, multilateral and bilateral partner organizations to achieve its goals.
In addition to studying and researching infrastructure, publishing souvenirs, magazines, journals, producing and broadcasting radio and television programs, making documentaries, media workers and contributing to the field of infrastructure and development, honoring and awarding working individuals and organizations, and providing fellowships to infrastructure journalists.

Infrastructure journalists’ play’s an important role in fostering an environment conducive to infrastructure development and expansion within the country. In this context, SIJ-Nepal was founded as a non-governmental organization by bringing together journalists working in the infrastructure sector. It aims to contribute to the development of the infrastructure sector on an institutional level by building the capacity of journalists.
With this goal in mind, SIJ-Nepal will organize and conduct various activities in collaboration with all stakeholders in the infrastructure sector to develop the personal and professional capacity of infrastructure journalists as well as the development of independent, fair, and balanced infrastructure journalism.
